Community services are provided by Catholic Charities, one of 190 independent non-profit social and human service agencies in the United States created in the Catholic Charities model to help all in need. Each Catholic Charities organization develops services most in need in their communities. Our primary offices are located in Lake, Napa, and Sonoma Counties.  As a public nonprofit corporation, Catholic Charities is governed by a single non-profit board of directors. Catholic Charities’ services and programs are responsible and accountable to government funding agencies, area foundations, and individual donors. Our commitment to financial and professional accountability is demonstrated through our strong management structure, sound GAAP-based accounting practices, tight fiscal controls and timely compliance reporting to funding agencies.

Catholic Charities prepares an annual operating budget with forward-looking financial and operating objectives covering the next twelve-month fiscal year. The budget process is extensive, beginning with front line managers and program directors, moving to senior management, and finally reviewed and approved by the finance committee of the Board of Directors and ultimately the Board of Directors. The finance committee and senior management review financial performance monthly.Catholic Charities funds an annual, independent, third party audit by a qualified CPA firm and publishes the results in a two-year comparable form. Catholic Charities files required performance outcome data as required by its own operating standards and to fulfill funding requirements. An annual IRS Form 990, fully disclosing operating income and expenses, is filed with the IRS each year.
