Donating a car is easy and it is an efficient way to help others in need and get a tax-deduction!

Well-maintained vehicles 10-15 years old sell well at auction, giving you the sale price for your tax write-off.

PLEASE CALL FIRST ABOUT older, non-operating vehicles as we cannot accept all cars. Boats and RVs must be in nice shape!

We definitely CANNOT ACCEPT:
- very old "abandoned in the field" cars
-1970s era Dodge RVs
-trailers and mobile homes rooted in parks
-vehicles in Mendocino County

How donating a car to Catholic Charities works:

Go to www.californiacardonations.org and click on “To Donate Your Car Click Here.” Then, choose Catholic Charities of Santa Rosa as your charity, fill out the donation form, and click “Submit.” A representative from Desert View Auto Auctions will contact you to schedule a time they can pick up the vehicle. You may also reach them by phone at 866-666-7674.

OR

Complete the Donation Form and fax it to (707) 575-4910. Once we affirm we can accept your vehicle, the car sale company will contact you about pick-up and obtaining your "pink slip" or proof of ownership papers. They generally will pick up your vehicle within a few days.

All vehicles "in process" by year's end will be credited to this year's donation for tax purposes. Vehicles are generally sold within a month, sometimes two.
